HTC Legend prematurely revealed by Dutch carrier

Any doubts that HTC might be bringing the Legend to Mobile World Congress 2010 next week look to be fast vanishing, as the smartphone – expected to be the successor to the HTC Hero – makes a (brief) appearance on the website of Dutch operator KPN.  The carrier prematurely posted a reservation form for the Legend, complete with some basic specifications.

iPhone Is Buzz Compatible While Most Android Phones Aren’t

Now that the “buzz” is dying down for the Google’s new Buzz service, its reality checks time. Currently only 2.0 and higher devices can take full advantage of the new features.

Currently there is only an estimated 28% of Android devices in use that are capable of taking full advantage of these services. This is due to the fact that lower Android versions browser does not support HTML5, although the gears requirement is meet.

HTC has added a new feature to the Sense UI home screen. It will now have multi touch support on the home screen as well. Soon you will be able to zoom in and out on the main screen by utilizing the pinch zoom feature.

Garmin-ASUS nuvifone A50 coming 1H 2010

Garmin-ASUS have outed their latest smartphone, and the nuvifone A50 is the first to be based on Android.  The A50 has a 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen, custom Garmin-ASUS UI and preloaded turn-by-turn navigation with voice prompts.  The company also provides real-time weather, traffic, fuel prices, safety cameras and flight status information.

Sony Ericsson demonstrates the X10’s face recognition feature

The X10 is shaping up to be quite an impressive devices even in the absence of Android 2.1. In this video below Sony demonstrates how face recognition will be integrated in Android.

To have this feature in a phone is awesome step forward in mobile technology. This feature is not too common in dedicated cameras. Sony is really raising the bar with this device. It already packs in an 8 megapixel camera with flash. Enjoy the video and I hope this technology makes its way to more Android devices.

Google is testing a new fiber optic network in a select few locations. There was a rumor floating around that the Nexus One would have the ability to use VOIP to make calls without the need for a wireless carrier. Looks like Google has bigger plans in the making.

As expected, T-Mobile have officially confirmed the new myTouch 3G models with 3.5mm headphone jacks.  The handset – which will be available in both black and white – is only listed as “coming soon” and lacks any sort of pricing.

Seems like it was just yesterday when we told everyone the Droid would be getting Android 2.1 in the next week or two. Now it’s the Cliq’s turn.

As I mentioned yesterday, hopefully Motorola will update all their Android’s to 2.1 soon and it looks as though this is the case. The Devour should get this update as well since it is a MotoBlur device like the Cliq. March is looking like its going to be a big month for Android and Motorola.
