iPhone Is Buzz Compatible While Most Android Phones Aren’t

Now that the “buzz” is dying down for the Google’s new Buzz service, its reality checks time. Currently only 2.0 and higher devices can take full advantage of the new features.

Currently there is only an estimated 28% of Android devices in use that are capable of taking full advantage of these services. This is due to the fact that lower Android versions browser does not support HTML5, although the gears requirement is meet.

80k Google Nexus Ones sold in January – report

A report from analytics group Flurry Inc. predicts that Google sold roughly 80,000 units of its Nexus One smartphone in the phone’s first month.  That doesn’t compare all that well with the DROID’s roughly 525,000 units in its first month, or the original Apple iPhone’s estimated 600,000 back in 2007.

AT&T may have fibbed regarding Sling player for iPhone

Just the other day, AT&T announced that it was able to work with Sling Media in order to optimize Sling player for AT&T’s 3G network. That’s good news for consumers and all, but it appears as though AT&T might have been doing a little posturing to make itself look like the good guy. After all, Sling users were disappointed about the lack of a Sling player on the iPhone when the application had been avaiable on BlackBerry for some time – and on AT&T’s network, no less.

Portable speaker turns your iPhone into an electric guitar (sort of)

Japan-based Bird Electron has announced [JP] the Ezison 100 today, a quite unusual speaker for the iPhone (or iPod touch) that's supposed to turn those devices into some kind of electric guitar. The Ezison 100 is (hand)made in Japan, with Bird Electron saying they used mainly wood and acrylic fiber in the production process.
